WMF Jugendstil Art Nouveau Ceramic Oval Serving Tray - circa 1910, 49cm wide.
An antique Art Nouveau Jugendstil WMF ceramic twin handled oval serving tray, circa 1910 by the German companies WMF and Wächtersbach Ceramics.
The tray has a white ceramic interior with geometric blue, green & grey border design surrounded by a metal frame with pierced edges and two decorative handles. There are four small ball feet to the base. There is an impressed 'ostrich WMF G' monogram to the outside edge (in use from around 1900 until about 1918), inside one of the handles and a printed maker's mark 'WMF. Dec. 2000', with pattern number 41 to the base.
The tray was part of a range of items featuring this pattern and included preserve jars, boxes, cake stands, teapots etc (see teapot for sale in separate listing photographed with the tray).
Marks: Impressed WMF 'ostrich WMF G' monogram to the outside edge (in use from around 1900 until about 1918) inside one of the handles & WMF Dec 2000 (pattern number) & 41 (shape number) on base.
Date: c. 1910
Size: 49cm wide x 31.25cm deep x 5cm high.
Condition: In good original condition - please note that the minor ball end of one of the handles is missing.
