An antique Arts and Crafts WAS Benson Insulated Copper Jug or Hot Water Flask.
In excellent original condition, retaining its original enamel liner, fruitwood lid and untouched original patina to the copper body and brass handle.
Designed by William Arthur Smith Benson (1854 – 1924) for retailers such as Liberty & Co and Morris & Co., the 'Patent Jacketed Vessel' was Benson's latest 'new invention' that claimed to keep water, milk, coffee and chocolate etc hot and Iced Water and Lemonade etc cold.

Stamped WAS Benson to base and WAS Benson 'Patent Applied For' mark to the inside of the brass side strap handle.
