WAS Benson Antique Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau Copper Ceiling Light with Powell Vaseline Glass Shade c. 1900

Extremely rare, beautiful & original Antique Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau W.A.S. Benson copper flush ceiling light fixture retaining its matching Antique James Powell glass vaseline striped onion shade. 

Marked BENSON to front with registration mark REGD 299640.

We have only seen one other example of this mounted ceiling light fixture which had a flint glass shade in 35 years of dealing with arts and crafts lighting, making this an extremely rare and sought after example. It may well be unique.

The light is beautifully detailed, crafted & constructed & is ideal for a dining room, bedroom, hallway or living room, as well as an entrance porch, hallway, writing desk area, inglenook fireplace or vestibule. 

Condition:  In excellent original condition.  In full working order, rewired & ready to use with antique style silk flex & mounted on a solid oak pattress, complete with brass lamp fittings, ready to install onto a ceiling. 

Size: Maximum height 15cm x 18.5cm diameter (with pattress).

Date: circa 1900.
