A rare shaped & marked antique mahogany Captains Swivel Office Chair or 'London' Revolving Desk Chair of outstanding quality by The Shannon Limited of Ropemaker Street, Shoreditch, London.  This solid mahogany swivel chair has a beautiful fan shaped back with shaped arms set above a mahogany seat set on ball bearings which allows it to rotate with a lovely smooth swivel action around the four beautifully shaped legs that are set on castors.
 
Marks: Complete with original label/plaque on rear of chair marked "The Shannon Limited Ropemaker Street London E C".    
 
Maker: The Shannon Limited opened it's doors in 1896 at 14 - 16 Ropemaker St. Shoreditch, London and supplied a large range of office furniture to the banking industry.  
 
Condition: In excellent original condition. A very solid & sturdy chair with excellent colour. 
 
Size: 86.5cm high x 64cm wide x 65cm deep.  Seat height 47cm.
