An outstanding large antique Ruskin Pottery high-fired porcelain vase by one of the most famous British ceramic artists and arts and crafts pottery makers William Howson Taylor of Ruskin Pottery, Smethwick, Birmingham.  

 

Dated 1926, at a time when art deco and modernism were growing in popularity leading on from the established arts and crafts and art nouveau styles, this stunning example of 1920s British Art Pottery exhibits thick rich green / blue / crimson transmuted spotted glazes.

 

It's beautiful shape and glazes makes this a most special & sought after example of William Howson Taylor’s work.

 

Marks: Impressed marks Ruskin England 1926 to base.
