A stunning and outstanding very large antique arts and crafts ginger jar with matching original cover, showing 6 sets of pierced love hearts.
Very finely potted & exhibiting a most interesting sang de boeuf glaze technique with good transmutations and glaze effects rarely found on other William Howson Taylor sang de boeuf type glazes.
Dated 1924, at a time when art deco and modernism were growing in popularity leading on from the established arts and crafts and art nouveau styles, the beautiful shape, glazes and very large size makes this a most special & sought after example of 1920s British Art Pottery.

Condition: In excellent original, undamaged and unrestored condition with original matching cover.
Marks: Stamped with impressed mark Ruskin England 1924 to base.
