Pair of matching vintage Italian wall lights by Gaetano Sciolari for Stilonovo.
Superb pair of highly decorative Italian brass and polished crystal glass futuristic wall lights by Gaetano Sciolari for Stilonovo c1970.
Made from glossy brass, each light has an array of beautiful elongated and flattened crystal glass teardrop forms housed in oblong section tubular holders which refract the light beautifully across a room with a soft warm glow.
The design showcases a blending of modernist geometry with the art deco-style in a sophisticated sculptural interpretation of the Hollywood Regency style.
Angelo Gaetano Sciolari is a creative Italian designer and entrepreneur. He has made a considerable contribution to the success of Italian design around the world particularly in the United States. During his career, he designed incredible and beautiful lights such as the ‘Mod A5011’ hanging lamp (circa 1950), the ‘4079’ floor lamp (1965), and the Cubic chandelier (the 1970s).

However, after his father’s death in 1949, Sciolari had to manage the family company of light production where he transformed it into an international enterprise.
Size: Each light measures 54cm high, 18cm wide and 14cm deep.
Date: circa 1970.
