Modernist Antique Art Deco Chrome Table Lamp c. 1932-1933, 36.5cm high
A superb & rare antique Art Deco extreme modernist chrome plated table lamp with angled fluorescent tubular light & circular halo.Of simplistic and ingenious construction, the lamp evokes extreme Art Deco Modernism at its best and has great similarities to the designs of Jacques Adnet, the French modernist architect and interior designer.Of English origin, the base is stamped Rd 777896 for c1932-1933 held in the National Archive records. The only example of the lamp we have seen before can be found on page 304 of the Lyle price guide for Art Nouveau & Deco by Tony Curtis 1992 as shown in photographs.Date: circa 1932-1933.
Size: 36.5cm maximum height x 26cm maximum width.
Condition: The lamp is in totally original excellent condition with very little wear to the chrome plate & has been re-wired using antique style black braided twisted wire ready to install with period in-line on\off switch. The lamp itself is in full working order. Please note that the flourscent tube is working - replacement extra long series tubular bulbs can readily be found from good on-line industrial light bulb specialists with varying designs to suit personal taste.
