McVitie & Price Arts and Crafts Copper, Ruskin & Brass Biscuit Box.
 
A superb high quality Arts and Crafts copper, brass and Ruskin pottery biscuit box made for  the McVitie & Price company c1910.
 
The luxuriously made box is well crafted and repousse decorated with stylised secessionist tendril and plant form motifs and simulated rivets, further adorned with three Ruskin pottery cabochons in mottled blues and lilac , the interior fully lined with crushed green velour velvet. There is a lock present with no key.
 
Retaining its deep rich original patina, the entire box is in exemplary orginal condition, the lining remaing intact and undamaged, the hinge operating perfectly. 
 
Size: 18cm width x 13cm depth x 10cm height.
 
Circa: 1910.
 
Markings: Base stamped McVitie & Price, London & Edinburgh.
 
Condition: In excellent original, undamaged and untouched condition retaining its original rich patina, the silk/velvet lining remaining intact.
