A superb antique Loetz Austria Art Nouveau Art Glass Phänomen Genre 377 cobalt blue globular vase with etched Loetz Austria signature to pontil.
 
The decor was first presented at the Paris world fair in 1900 based on a centuries old technique where the molten glass was quenched in cold water and fused again in the furnace. Subsequent rolled silver and re-iridizing created this new method of glass decoration. The beautiful shape and strong homogeneous decoration exhibited on this example demonstrates this technique to perfection.
