Exceptional Newlyn Arts and Crafts copper umbrella stand by Obed Nicholls
 
A rare and outstanding Arts and Crafts hammered copper umbrella stand by the Newlyn Art Metal Industry decorated by Obed Nicholls.
 
Profusely decorated with Cornish Gurnard fish, aquatic life, bubbles and a conch shell, the umbrella stand retains its rich deep metallic patina and remains in completely untouched original condition.
 
Substantial and highly decorated Newlyn copper was available by special order only, this example is both unseen and unrecorded, it is simply magnificent.
 
The Newlyn stamp appears on its base plate and the stand can be fixed directly to the floor or with a bespoke wood base if required.

Markings: Stamped Newlyn to base.
 
Condition: In excellent untouched condition retaining its rich original rich patina throughout.
