An exceptional and rare Glasgow school Arts and Crafts kidney shape hand hammered brass wall mirror by Margaret Gilmour c1900.
Depicting stylised peacocks and Celtic entrelac foliage makes this a wonderful example worthy of the finest collections, the kidney shape compliments the design so beautifully.
Considered as one of the “Glasgow Girls”, Margaret Gilmour attended the School of Art from 1877 until 1880. The Gilmour Studio was set up with her two sisters at 179 West George St. Glasgow.
Condition: In superb condition throughout retaining its original patina with no damage or issues. The bevelled mirror glass plate is immaculate with no degradation whatsoever. An absolute joy.
