CHRISTOPHER DRESSER (1834-1904) FOR LINTHORPE POTTERY JUG, CIRCA 1880

A rare and truly magnificent example of a Linthorpe Pottery Aesthetic Movement Jug designed by Dr Christopher Dresser.  The vivid green and brown coloured glazes are extremely well fired and controlled and are typical of other examples of Dresser's Linthorpe work (see photo 11).

The jug is finely modelled with great attention to detail, exhibiting Dresser's trademark angular handle and is substantial in size (25cm high), weighing almost 2 kilos.

It is fully marked to the base with Dresser's facsimile signature, Linthorpe mark & Henry Tooth monogram.

C.1880

Size: H25cm x D18cm x W16cm
