An extremely rare antique Art Nouveau/Arts and Crafts Birmingham Guild of Handicraft (BGH) No. 44 Copper & Brass Table Lamp or Wall Light by Arthur Stansfield Dixon, with beautifully crafted copper & brass shade & original W.A.S. Benson switch, Birmingham, England, c. 1905.
No.44 in the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft catalogue (source V&A museum).
The lamp is completely original with beautifully crafted hand-planished/hammered antique BGH copper shade & intricate superbly finished brass components that are highly engineered, well designed & are in excellent original condition. Genuine period item - highly rare & virtually unseen.
Marks: Impressed with B.G.H. mark;
Size: 44cm high x 26.5cm diameter.
Date: c.1905
Condition: In excellent original condition. Rewired with antique style braided silk twisted flex and in full working order ready to use.
Provenance: Madresfield Court country house, home of the Lygon family for six centuries, Malvern UK.
