Superb pair of Arts and Crafts Birmingham Guild of Handicraft BGH Brass Wall Lights.

 

An exceptional and highly ingenious matching pair of fully articulated Arts and Crafts Birmingham Guild of Handicraft brass wall lights complete with original vaseline 'straw opalescence' glass shades.

 

Designed and engineered by architect Arthur Stansfeld Dixon with swivel and length adjusting action for individual positioning. 

 

This highly innovative and futuristic design is one of a series of lighting concepts Dixon completed at the Guild where both quality and execution was sublime achieved by a small team of highly dedicated and skilled master craftsmen.

 

In completely original and untouched condition retaining their original patina and parts, the vaseline glass shades are also in excellent condition. The lights operate perfectly well and are ready to install.

 

Size: 78.5 cm long (88.5cm with shade) x 55.5cm high x 19.5cm deep (diameter of shade).

 

Date: 1905.

 

Condition:  In excellent original condition (with some minor dents to weights, and wear to some wooden pulleys which all are operational).  Rewired with silk flex and in full working order ready to install.

 

Marks: Partial BGH stamp to rear of backplates.
