Arts and Crafts W.A.S. Benson & James Powell vaseline glass oil lamp
 
A superb and rare Arts and Crafts W.A.S. Benson oil lamp with matching James Powell striped vaseline glass shade in completely untouched and original condition c1895.
 
The main base structure is cast in iron and brass with stylised tendrils holding a copper oil reservoir with its matching Hinks duplex riser burner. Fully complete with its original matching James Powell striped vaseline glass duplex shade of magnificent colour and clarity and oil chimney.
 
Condition:- The lamp base retains its original japanned black finish and its original lacquer finish to the copper reservoir, the Benson Hinks duplex riser burner operates perfectly without damage and the Powell glass vaseline glass shade is perfect. In remarkable faultless condition throughout and fully complete.
 
Markings:-  Stamped W.A.S. Benson to the reservoir filler and W.A.S. Benson and Hinks London to the wick riser knob.
