Antique Arts and Crafts James Powell & Sons Whitefriars Sea Green Glass Flower Vase/Epergne or Centrepiece.

A superb quality and rare antique arts and crafts James Powell & Sons Whitefriars sea green glass flower vase, epergne or table centrepiece with three 'C' shape formed trumpets surrounding a large central trumpet mounted on a domed base with beautifully detailed gilt brass supports, designed by T. G. Jackson c1880.

The Powell sea green colour is most beautiful and highly prized particularly in a rare epergne arrangement, we have yet to see another example and it is most likely that it was sold through Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co, London (founded by the artist and designer William Morris).

Design registration number etched to the underside of the base Rd 175602.

See ‘Whitefriars Glass, The Art of James Powell & Sons‘ by Lesley Jackson for further examples and also the Victoria & Albert museum archives.
