A beautiful example of a large size Arts and Crafts hand hammered wall mounted newspaper / magazine or letter holder by Alexander Ritchie of Iona c. 1900.
 
Decorated with bold stylised Celtic entrelac knotwork, this is a rare and useful example of Arts and Crafts Scottish metalwork. The rolled edges adds strength to the design and is a sign of quality made by an artisan.
 
It is typically unsigned as are most items by Ritchie.
