WAS Benson/Christopher Dresser Arts and Crafts Brass Table Lamp/Light with Powell Vaseline Glass Shade.

 

A stunning and rare large size antique Arts and Crafts brass desk light or table lamp very much in the style of both WAS Benson and Dr Christopher Dresser with stunning Powell vaseline glass candy stripe shade.

 

Very stylishly and cleverly designed with adjustable ball ended pivoted side arm, which enables the direction of the lamp shade to be angled to suit by moving it up & down and/or rotated around the main stem of the lamp base using the adjustable locking nuts on the side arm. 

 

The lamp stands on a substantial and sturdy brass ball with spiked and ball ended tripod feet and is completed with a magnificent striped vaseline glass shade by James Powell of a particularly beautiful form and colour.

 

The lamp is in superb condition retaining its rich original patina and associated parts and epitomises the arts and crafts period, the quality is sublime.

 

Size: 45cm high as shown extending to approx 62cm maximum.

 

Date: c.1900.

 

Condition: In excellent condition and in full working order with original period switched bulb holder and re-wired with black silk braided twist flex ready to install.
